by | Apr 28, 2025 | Hearing Aids, Patient Resources

Hearing aids hold the promise of enhancing your connection with the world.

Whether it’s the gentle rustle of leaves, heartfelt conversations with loved ones or the spontaneous sound of laughter, hearing aids are designed to enhance these experiences.

Yet, for many, the reality is far from the promise; instead of delivering clarity, your hearing aids might be a source of frustration due to improper fittings.

That’s where your friendly neighbourhood team of hearing aid fitting experts is here to help you adjust the fit of your hearing devices so you can get back to hearing the life you love without discomfort or stress.

Recognizing the Signs of a Poor Fit

Have you ever found yourself turning up the volume in an already loud environment or straining to understand speech?

These struggles are common signs that your hearing aids might not be properly adjusted. Here are a few indicators that might seem all too familiar:

Muffled or Distorted Sound:

If conversations feel distant or indistinct, it's a sign that your hearing aids aren't tuned to your specific needs.

Uncomfortable Fit:

Comfort is key. If your hearing aids cause discomfort or pain, they are likely not fitted correct

Persistent Whistling or Feedback:

This high-pitched squeal typically indicates a misalignment or sealing issue.

Frequent Volume Adjustments:

Constantly needing to adjust the volume can suggest a need for better calibration.
